Prayer changes things! Mac believes that the power of prayer can            
      change and rearrange a person's life.  Mac is from a large family,          
      his parents moved to the Hampton Roads area in 1962 looking for a
     better life for their children.  Upon moving to the area, Mac's father
    found work in a community barbershop.  Here is where Mac worked at a                  
    young age as a shoe shine boy.  He was intrigued by life in the       
    barbershop and developed a love for the barbering experience.  Mac     
   grew and sharpened his skills as a barber and when he graduated    
  high school he also acquired his master barber certification.  He worked at    
  Essence Barbershop for some years before he stepped out on faith and    
 opened his own barbershop in Denbigh.  With his now deceased wife, he
 opened Mac's Barbershop in 1994.  Mac and his wife equipped his shop    
  with capable barbers that could meet the needs of a diverse population.     
   His wife was his anchor and they grew Mac's firtst barbershop into a
   thriving community business.  In 2000 Mac's prayers were answered and  
    he opened Mac's Barbershop Two in downtown Newport News.  Five years
    later he opened Mac's Three in Williamsburg.  Through prayer Mac has been
   able to open several locations to meet the needs of  his customers.  He
   provides a safe wholesome environment that welcomes ALL people. He
   truly believes that prayer changes things and through his and   
   Carol's (his loving wife) prayers they are serving the Hampton Roads      
  community with a barbershop environment that caters to its families.
